Drs. Cornelis, M.H. (born July 27, 1953) is the Governor of West Kalimantan for the period 2008–2018. Cornelis won the regional election for Governor of West Kalimantan held on November 15 2007. He was sworn in by Minister of Home Affairs Mardiyanto on January 14 2008, paired with Christiandy Sanjaya. In the 2012 regional election, still paired with his deputy Christiandy Sanjaya, he was re-elected for the period 2013–2018. Cornelis also served as the Chairman of the DPD PDI Perjuangan West Kalimantan Province and Chairman of the Grand Family of Former Members of the Police (KBPPP) West Kalimantan. Source: Wikipedia
