Habiburokhman (born September 17, 1974, in Metro, Lampung) is a politician and advocate from Indonesia. He serves as the Chairman of the Commission III of the People's Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) from the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) for the 2024–2029 term. Commission III DPR RI deals with legal affairs, human rights, and security. Additionally, he also serves as the Chairman of the Gerindra Faction in the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI). Habiburokhman is a Member of the DPR RI for the 2019 - 2024 term and a Member for the 2024 - 2029 term. Born in Metro, Lampung on September 17, 1974, he completed his undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lampung (Unila) and his master's degree at the Faculty of Law of the University of Indonesia. During his student years, Habib, as he is commonly called, was active in various organizations such as the Islamic Student Association (HMI), the Student Senate of FH Unila, and the Lampung Student Youth Family (KMPPRL). In the late 1990s, Habib was known as a leading student activist who vigorously led demonstrations demanding President Suharto's resignation. Due to his critical stance, Habiburokhman was arrested and detained multiple times by the authorities. Since 2005, Habib founded the People's Lawyer Union (SPR), which diligently files Class Action lawsuits defending the people's rights. In addition to being a public defense advocate, Habib also established the Business Law Office of Habiburokhman & Co, located in Menteng Central Jakarta. Many of his clients come from abroad.
