Lesdawati was born in Kotabumi, North Lampung Regency, Lampung on January 19, 1973. She is the eldest child of five siblings of H. Anshori and Hj. Rachmawati. She attended education at SD Negeri 2 Tanjung Aman (1979–1985), SMP Negeri 5 Kotabumi (1985–1988), and SMA Negeri 1 Kotabumi (1988–1991). She earned a Bachelor of Economics degree from the Faculty of Economics Surapati University (2005–2009). She attained a Master's degree in Transportation Management from Trisakti School of Transportation Management (2010–2012). She started her doctoral studies in Educational Science at State University of Padang in 2017.[13][14][15] On April 30, 2024, she successfully earned her Doctorate after passing the closed exam, and on May 17, 2024, she passed the open exam to defend her dissertation titled "Development of a Training Model for Teacher Personality Competency Based on Self-Directed Learning".
