Mardani Ali Sera (born April 9, 1968) is an Indonesian academic and politician from Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). Currently, he serves as a member of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia since 2017 and from 2011 to 2014 represented the electoral district of West Java VII (2011–2014, 2017–2019) and DKI Jakarta I (2019–present). He also teaches as a lecturer at Mercu Buana University, Jakarta. Coming from a Betawi family, Mardani spent his childhood and completed his secondary education in Jakarta. His leadership character began to show when he led the extracurricular Islamic spiritual (Rohis) at SMAN 1 Jakarta. Engaging in the tarbiah movement while studying at University of Indonesia, he showed his interest in politics. Mardani has served as a member of the DPR-RI for two terms, although the results of the 2009 Indonesian legislative elections and 2014 did not lead him to the DPR. In 2011, Mardani was appointed as a member of the DPR replacing Arifinto who resigned. In 2017, Mardani filled the vacancy left by Sa'duddin. In the early days of the establishment of the Justice Party (PK), Mardani served as a member of the Party Information Center (PIP) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. In 2000, he joined the PIP management when PK changed its name to the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). Since returning to the homeland in 2003, Mardani has been involved in party management from the district level to the central level. In 2005, he was appointed as Deputy Secretary-General of the PKS DPP until 2010. Since 2011, he has been entrusted as the Chairman of the DPP PKS for Public Relations Coordination.
