Muhammad Hatta is a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the period 2009-2014 continued for the period 2014-2019 from PAN representing Central Java primarily in the areas of Surakarta, Klaten, Sukoharjo, and Boyolali. Mohammad Hatta was assigned to Commission XI which handles matters related to the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia, the National Development Planning Agency, Bank Indonesia, as well as Banks and Financial Institutions.
