Elfonda Mekel, better known by the name Once Mekel (pronounced: Ohn-chè), was born on May 21, 1970. He is a singer, researcher, music industry observer, entrepreneur, and politician from Indonesia. Once began his singing career after completing his high school education by becoming a semi-professional singer. In 2022, Once and his colleagues such as Derek Sherenian, Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal, Simon Phillips, Jeff Scott Soto, Billy Sheehan, Indra Putra, and Edo Widiz formed the Dream Team Project and collaborated with WiseArt, an environmentally friendly NFT company based in Geneva, to enter the world of NFT music. They launched a song titled "Human Nature" which focuses on environmental concerns. In 2016, Once became a judge on the talent show Just Duet which aired on NET., alongside Elizabeth Tan, Mey Chan, and Mike Mohede. In December 2022, Once Mekel also collaborated with StarX to introduce the Intrinsik Multi Produksi (IMProduction) platform which is claimed to play a role in supporting environmental sustainability.
