Zainul Munasichin (born February 23, 1977) is an Indonesian politician. He is part of the National Awakening Party (PKB). In the 2024 Indonesian legislative election, he ran in the electoral district West Java IV, receiving 63,780 votes and was appointed as a member of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia 2024–2029. He started his career as an NGO activist in Jember through the Policy Study and Social Transformation Institute (SKETSA) from 1998-2001. Through SKETSA, he provided support and advocacy for laborers in rubber, coffee, and tobacco plantations at the regional company (PDP), as well as at the state-owned plantation companies, PTNP X and PTPN XII in Jember. He also founded a labor union called the Plantation Labor Union (SERBUK). In 2001, he left Jember and began his new career as a journalist. He joined the Islamic Thought Journal "Gerbang" published by the Institute for Religion and Democracy Studies (eLSAD) Surabaya in collaboration with the donor organization, The Asia Foundation. In that same year, he became a reporter at Radio Maja FM in Mojokerto. In 2002, he migrated to Yogyakarta, becoming a political journalist at Harian Republika Yogyakarta Bureau and eventually moved to Jakarta. In 2005, he decided to leave the journalism field and chose to pursue a political career in PKB as a Special Assistant to the PKB Faction in the DPR RI, while also actively serving as a functionary of one of PKB's Autonomous Bodies, namely the National Coordination Council of the Youth Movement of National Awakening (DKN Garda Bangsa). In 2008, he joined the ranks of the Daily Management Board of DPP PKB as one of the Deputy Secretaries General of DPP PKB until now. Source: Wikipedia
