Ganjar Pranowo is an Indonesian politician from the PDI Perjuangan party who was born on October 28, 1968, in Karanganyar, Central Java. He is widely known as the Governor of Central Java for two terms (2013–2023), who is close to the people, firm, and active in utilizing social media for public communication. Previously, he served as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives and was vocal on issues of anti-corruption and transparency. With a legal education from Gadjah Mada University, Ganjar has a strong track record in bureaucratic reform and public services. Mahfud MD (born May 13, 1957, Sampang, Madura) is a constitutional law expert and academic who has had a broad career in the judicial, legislative, and executive fields. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Law (UII) and Arabic Literature (UGM), followed by a Master's degree in Political Science and a Doctorate in Constitutional Law at UGM, before becoming a law professor at UII since the mid-1980s. Mahfud has served as Minister of Defense (2000–2001), Minister of Justice & Human Rights, Deputy Speaker of the MPR, and Chairman of the Constitutional Court (2008–2013), later taking on the role of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (2019–2024). Known for his firm stance on law enforcement and for creating ambitious policies such as the Omnibus Law, he has announced his candidacy for vice president alongside Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 presidential elections, bringing with him a reputation for intellectualism and multidimensional government experience.
