The man named DR. Ir. Apolo Safanpo, ST, MT. is a son of Papua born in Agast, April 24, 1975. He is an expert staff officer for the Minister of Home Affairs in the field of government. Apolo is a local son who has a brilliant career in education and government. According to data collected by detikcom from Cendrawasih University, Apolo served as the rector of Cendrawasih University from 2017 to 2022. Previously, he also served as the head of department and then dean at the Faculty of Engineering Uncen. Apolo Safanmo started his elementary school education at YPPGI Agast-Asmat. He then continued to junior high school at SMP YPPK St. Yohanes Permadi Agast-Asmat. Next, he pursued senior high school education at SMA YPPK Taruna Dharma Jayapura. Apolo then continued his studies at the university level in Civil Engineering at Sebelas Maret University Solo in 1999. He then earned a Master’s (S2) in Environmental Engineering at the Institute of Technology Sepuluh November (ITS) Surabaya in 2002. Paskalis Imadawa (born April 6, 1969) is an Indonesian politician born in Kampung Kimaam, Kimaam District, Merauke Regency who was appointed as Vice Governor of South Papua on February 20, 2025, accompanying Apolo Safanpo as Governor of South Papua after winning the 2024 South Papua gubernatorial election.[1] Paskalis is widely recognized by the community as a traditional leader but also as a fighter for the expansion of South Papua. He began his primary education at YPPK Santo Lukas Bana Bamol Elementary School. He then continued to YPPK Santo Kristo Kimaam Junior High School and went on to YPPK Yohanes XXIII Merauke High School. After graduating high school, Paskalis continued his studies at Flores University, Ende, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education (S.Pd) in 1996. Paskalis is a figure widely known as a traditional leader and a fighter for the expansion of South Papua. As the Chairperson of the Anim Ha Customary Council, he became the main voice of the community in Merauke, Mappi, and Boven Digoel, and played an active role in advocating for the expansion of the South Papua Province.
