Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Husain Syam, M.Tp., IPU., ASEAN. Eng., is the Rector of Makassar State University until May 2024 and a Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the campus. Born in Kanang, Polewali Mandar, South Sulawesi Province, July 7, 1966, he was appointed as the Rector of UNM for the periods of 2016-2020 and 2020-2024. Before serving as rector, he was the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Study Program at Makassar State University from 2007-2008 and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNM from 2008-2012. Husain Syam also served as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering during the subsequent period of 2012-2016. During his leadership at UNM, Husain Syam led the campus to a number of achievements including an accreditation of A, ranking fifth among the best human resources (HR) in higher education across Indonesia in 2017, ranked third for the best HR in 2018, and ranked 20 among State Universities (PTN) and Private Universities (PTS) out of 4,445 PTN and PTS in Indonesia. Mrs. Enny Anggraeny Anwar
Vice Governor of West Sulawesi for the period 2017–2022
Born in Parepare, South Sulawesi on April 9, 1959, Enny is a graduate of SMAN 1 Bau-Bau. Her political career as a Member of the People's Representative Council (DPR-RI) for the 2014-2019 period represented the West Sulawesi Electoral District after obtaining 58,518 votes. At that time, she was supported by the Golkar Party. After being elected, Enny Anggraeni Anwar served on Commission II, which deals with domestic governance and regional autonomy, apparatus and bureaucratic reform, and agrarian reform. According to a circular from the Golkar faction in March 2015, she was reassigned to Commission VII. Enny Anggraeni Anwar again transferred duties in 2016, namely to Commission IX. Before entering the political world, she served as the Chief Financial Officer of Persada Group from 2004 to 2009. Enny also has organizational experience, including Chair of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) West Sulawesi in 2006 and also Chair of the Indonesian Red Cross West Sulawesi Province from 2013 to 2018.
