Dr.(H.C.) Ir. Tri Rismaharini, M.T was born in Kediri, East Java, on November 20, 1961. Risma is the Mayor of Surabaya, serving since February 17, 2016. Previously, she served as the Mayor of Surabaya from September 28, 2010, to September 28, 2015. Risma is the first woman elected as Mayor of Surabaya in history and is also the first female regional head in Indonesia to repeatedly make it onto the list of the world's best leaders. Tri Rismaharini attended elementary school at SD Negeri Kediri, then continued her education at Junior High School 10 Surabaya, graduating in 1976. She then continued her education at Senior High School 5 Surabaya and graduated in 1980. She obtained her degree in Architecture by studying at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya and graduated in 1987. She then continued her postgraduate studies in Urban Development Management at (ITS) Surabaya as well, and graduated in 2002. She was awarded an honorary Doctorate degree from her alma mater (ITS Surabaya) in the field of Urban Development Management at the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning. Gus Hans's full name is Zahrul Azhar Asumta. Gus Hans was born on March 23, 1976, in Jombang and is the son of KH As’ad Umar and Hj Azah As’ad. His parents are caretakers of the Queen Al Azhar Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Peterongan, Jombang. In addition, Gus Hans is also known as a santri figure who plays an important role in the national santri community. It is known that in his education, Gus Hans earned a bachelor's degree after attending UPN Yogyakarta with a major in International Relations.
